Volunteer Appreciation Night @ O'Ginny's

They say volunteering is often a thankless task, and, as usual, the ubiquitous They are completely and utterly wrong.  This past Friday the Canadian Society invited the volunteers who had so generously helped out at our annual Canada Day Celebration to an evening of drinks and food on us. 

Once again this year’s Canada Day Beach party was a resounding success, as it continues to grow into one of the largest Canada Day Celebration outside of our native land.  This success is, of course, a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, and hence a night of food and drink to show our appreciation.

We had a great turnout of CST members and volunteers, and as always we were happy to see that Canadians, Taiwanese and others from around the globe are taking part in the CST and its events.

The party was held at O’Ginny’s, which is a great little place to stop in for drink or a bite to eat if you’re in the neighborhood.  A special thanks goes to our to good friend Michele, who put on a great spread of food and opened his bar to us.  The food was delicious, and a very welcome necessity with free wine and beer flowing all evening.

The event was scheduled for 7 – 10, but with everyone having such a great time meeting new friends and catching up with old ones, we of course continued the festivities well into the night. 

And finally, apologies to any of the volunteers who didn’t receive their invitations.  We tried to get invites to all who lent a hand, but we know we’ve missed some of you.  Again, apologies.  But don’t despair if you missed out for some reason.  With interest and membership in the CST growing, we’ve decided it’s time for a very overdue social night.  This one promises to be even bigger, and will be held at the Herb Villa on Friday, September the 5th.  Check this page for details and we’ll see you there.
