The Canadian Society in Taiwan (the Society) was established in 1983 by a group of Canadians, in answer to the absence of official Canadian representation in Taiwan at that time. Since its inception, the Society has grown from an organization providing basic support to Canadians on the island, to a Society serving the needs of all Canadians and friends of Canada in Taiwan. In 1984, the Canadian Society was officially registered with the Ministry of Interior as a foreign association - the first of its kind in Taiwan.

Wednesday March 19 : Social Night with Guest Jonathan Manthorpe
Mr. Manthorpe has a great knowledge of Taiwan, his book Forbidden Nation: A History of Taiwan was published in 2005. He follows events here and is regarded as one of the  Canada's best journalists.

July 27th(Friday): Social Night Party
We are heading to The Tavern on July 27th for our monthly social night and we will be having big thank you party (i.e. free dinner buffet for the
volunteers of Canada D'eh), There will also be 100NTD drink specials for Taiwan Beer draft, wine, screw drivers, Gin Tonic and Rum & Coke.

June 30th: Canada D’eh Baishawan Beach Party
The Canadian Society had the big annual beach party to celebrate Canada ’s 140th birthday on Saturday June 30 near Bashiwan beach. We got out the barbecues, picnic tables, beer coolers and swimsuits for the now famous Canada D’eh beach party, and it was a super hot day.

We are joining together with ICRT and Cosmopolitan Grill to have a fantastic comedy night ! The name of this comedy night ? What else ?! Comedy Binlang !!!

Finally, the long awaiting social night for June is coming. Brass Monkey has good drinks, good food, and also Canada D'eh tickets will be available at the event for purchase.

June 17-19: Dragon Boat Festival - CST Team
The Canadian Society's team has been practicing since March and is aiming to make 2007 its best year yet.  Even though we've already assembled our team, we hope that you can come out and cheer us on for the races. Goooooooooooooooooo Canada!!!

April 5th: Danshui Historical Tour [Tomb Sweeping, Museum, Food & Sight seeing
Canadian Society has now organized an outing event at April 5th. If you have been stuck in your office and computer for toooooo long, it is time for you to join us to get tan on your skin. While many locals might choose the day to spit and fight over JKS, we will have a peaceful day out to learn all of earlier expatriate history in Danshui.  You will have a good work out and good food afterward.  Interested person please contact office@canadiansociety.org
