Featured Benefit Provider: Ticino |
“Ticino” Swiss Restaurant & Grotto is located
in a small Lane, (beside the Pig) in Tien Mou. It is famous
for its good food and special dishes, like Cheese Fondue, Bourgignonne
and Chocolate Fondue, Raclette, and Steak Tartar. A specialty
we’d like to highlight is “The Cappello di Ticino”,
brought directly from Switzerland and not available anywhere
else in Asia. This is a Swiss version of hot pot, if you like;
patrons can grill or bake meat, seafood, vegetables, and cheese
at their table.
Redecorated just over a year ago, Ticino provides a cozy and
comfortable environment. Check out the Grotto bar & lounge
as you enter on the first floor. The main restaurant and a private
room are located in the back area and on the second floor.
But there is more to Ticino! Executive Chef
Peter Frauchiger is also in charge of a fine cheese factory
(Chococheese; located at #34-1, Sect. 2, Zhishan Road –
just outside the Movie Park on Zhishan Road in Shilin, near
the National Palace Museum). Peter makes eight different kinds
of cheese and also fresh yoghurt according to traditional Swiss
recipes. Look for the Ticino logo on cheeses with exotic names
like Tenero (Camembert-style), Calido (Raclette–style),
and Galito [flavored with garlic] … or try out the drinking
yoghurt [Yogi] made of fresh milk and fruits!
