But Canada is not only known because of these famous personalities. Canadian festivals are likewise very popular around the world. In fact, hundreds of tourists visit the country to attend festival. Locals are very active with regards to celebrating any event or festival. That is why there are so many festivals celebrated in almost every month across the breadth of Canada. One of the most popular festivals in Canada is the Winter Carnival. Held annually every February in the city of Quebec, it is deemed as the biggest winter festival around the globe. Events usually include daytime and nighttime parades featuring mascot Bonhomme Carnaval, masquerades and free outdoor banquets.

Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival – British Columbia

Celebrated every 3rd month of the year (March), Vancouver International Wine Festival is a 7-day event held in Vancouver. In this celebration, different types of wine from all over the world are being showcased. Thus, it often attracts some of the biggest names in the industry from across the world.

The festival is usually held at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre. There are different activities during this celebration. People can participate in wine education class and seminars where they can learn valuable information about wine. Otherwise, visitors can take part in wine tasting and food pairing activities. If you love the scent of wine, this festival is perfect for you. Be sure not to get drunk when tasting all the wines.

Festival du Voyageur – Winnipeg

Every February, locals in Winnipeg celebrate its annual Festival du Voyageur or “Festival of the Traveller.” This festival is meant to commemorate the history of the first fur trading as well as the French voyageurs who introduced French culture to locals. It is a 10-day celebration where people can take part in different activities held at St. Boniface – Winnipeg’s French Quarter.

Some of the activities during the festival include dog sled races, exhibits, displays and concerts. Both locals and foreigners can truly enjoy this winter festival in Western Canada.
